Homemade Raspberry Rolls

I'm making raspberry rollups...
For the dough you need:
1  1/8 cup of warm milk (temp. between 110 to 135 degrees)
1/4 cup of sugar
3 tsp of instant yeast
1 1/4 stick of butter
2 eggs
4 cups of flour
1/2 tsp of salt

For the filling:
About 3 cups of fresh raspberries
1/2 cup of sugar
1 cup of mama's homemade raspberry jam.. (store jam should be good too)

For icing:
4 tblsp of butter
2 cups of powder sugar
1/2 tsp of vanilla exract
6 tsp of warm water

Combine the milk and sugar together. add the yeast and let stand until activated.. About 10 mins.
meanwhile completely melt the butter and whisk the eggs together.
In another bowl combine the flour and salt together
add the yeast and milk mixture to the egg mixture and using the electric mixer on the lowest set. Add the flour mixture a half a cup at a time until completely mixed.
Heat oven on a very low temp. 200 degrees or so.
Spray the inside of a medal bowl with cooking spray and transfer the dough into the bowl. Then damp a cloth and place it over the bowl with the dough. Turn off the oven and place the bowl inside to let the dough raise for about an hour or two.
Meanwhile add the sugar to the raspberries to sweeten them a bit.
After the dough raise about double the size, put it on a large cutting board dusted with flour and pull it out until the dough is about 1/4 inch in thickness...
Cut the dough in half so there are two rolls and spread the jam on each half. spread the raspberries over the jam..

Roll the dough like a cinnamin roll and put on a cookie sheet wrap with plastic wrap and put in the freezer for about 15 mins to stiffen it. I'll make it easier to cut.
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees
Cut into about 1 to 2 inches rolls and put in a cake pan lined with parchment paper.
Bake for 20 to 30 mins or until they are golden brown.
Mix all the ingredients for the icing together.
Once done add the icing to the rolls before they completely cool. And enjoy..

Making a Blog Header

While making my own blog header I decide to make a tutorial to help some of my blogger friends.

I've use picmonkey.com to make my blog header
Click on Design to get started

Make the background transparent

On the far left there is an icon of a butterfly for overlays.Start designing your header. When you right click the mouse there is an option to duplicate the overlay, this will make it easier to have a more symmetric icon. I've also found it easier to use the checker pattern on the transparent background to line things up.

After you are finished with the icon save to use in future logos or titles or what ever else you want to make consisted with you header

Make sure you save you file as a .PNG file so the background stays transparent

Refresher Picmonkey.com to start a new design. Change the background to transparent. Then go to the square at the top with the arrows on the left sidebar. and resize your canvas to 1000px by 400px, Thats the average size for a Blogger.com Header. Make sure to uncheck keep proportions to change the size of the canvas.

Choose the butterfly icon on the far left sidebar. then Choose "Your Own" Overlay. Right click to duplicate and flip it.

Add Text to your header

And Save. Again make sure to save it in .PNG  to keep it transparent
I hope this helped you.

What I've Been Doing All Weekend....

Well blog-wise I've been working on branding my blog.. I had heard or I've pinned alot of things about "branding your blog". So now you see a different color scheme. The black and turquoise i have always loved. I'm currently working on a tutorial on how to make a header for your blog using picmonkey.com. I like to you picmonkey for alot of my photo editing and blog design. Well anyways I have read on why branding you blog is so important and how to brand your blog. It all comes down to visually appealing blogs attract more readers and builds an audience. And thats my goal for this month.. I know I'm really early in the blog game. My blog isnt even a month old yet but I want to start seeing numbers. With that said my readers and followers, I really appreciate you..

Besides from working on my blog this weekend, My family took a trip to the pumpkin farm. We had a pretty sweet time. My children are the perfect age for the pumpkin farm. They love the hay ride and petting zoo the most. There was an amazing amount of things to do there. It was definitely worth the drive of an hour to get there..

Me and my husband planned on going to see Iggy at a concert on sunday but our plans didn't go through. Our alternative plan was a pretty chill night with the couple we were suppose to go with. We caught up on some of our shows and my husband "master chief" made chicken alfredo.. So Delish...

Ohh yeah I dyed my hair purple!!!

Photo Editing

My husband downloaded Lightroom 5 for me today. I didn't have much time to work with it and I have alot to learn yet. but I am excited about this software. I had to watch tutorials on how to start editing a photo in lightroom. I usually use picmonkey.com to edit my photos, but I felt that the effects in picmonkey was too masking. I like to cover the bags under my eyes and thats it.. With picmonkey I have to bring the exposure all the way up and brightness , and it always turn me completely white.. I think i'm going to like Lightroom I just got to get more experience with it..  This is my first attempt to editing one of my photos

The best spinach dip

This is the first time im writing a recipe. So I found a recipe on pinterest a while ago for spinach artichoke dip, and I decide to change it up a bit because i'm not too fond of artichokes.. Now I am the spinach dip girl at the parties and family get-togethers. Everyone always begs me to make it, but it's soooo simple to do..
For this recipe you need
One bag of Spinach
One large Onion
Three Garlic Cloves
About a Tablespoon of Butter
Two Cream Cheese
About a Quarter Cup of Milk
Dash of Hot Sauce
Dash of Worcestershire Sauce
A Pinch of Shredded Mozzarella

Dice the onion and garlic cloves. Chop the spinach.
Heat a large skillet. Add the butter, onions and garlic. Cook the onion and garlic for until the onions are transparent. Add the spinach. Cook until the spinach is wilted. Remove the spinach, onion, and garlic from pan.
Let the pan cool down slightly. Then add the milk and cream cheese. SLOWLY heat the cream cheese until smooth. Then add the worcestershire sauce and hot sauce. After that is mixed well, add the spianch and the mozzarella. Make sure not to add too much mozzarella because it will make it stringy..
Serve warm with tortilla chips, or pretzels

September's Ipsy Bag

In my September's ipsy bag I received the crown brush by infinity with dual ends. One end is for the crease of your eye and the other end is for shadow. I was really excited to get this in my Ipsy bag because I needed a crease brush for months now, since I misplaced mine awhile ago.. The next item I got was Hikari lipstick in cabernet. This lipstick is perfect for the fall, it's has a really deep and rich color. I got the NYX hot singles eyeshadow in innocent. This eyeshadow is awesome. It has the right amount of shimmer and is great for an everyday look. Then I received Pacifica natural waterproof eye pencil in fringe. This eye pencil compliments the eyeshadow great. And I wear theses two together all the time. And the last item I received in my Ipsy bag this month was Briogeo don't despair, repair deep conditioning mask. It really made the ends of my hair smooth. And believe me I needed this. My hair is so damage from the hair dye and heat. I only wish they would of gave me a bigger size.. but overall this month's dag was probably my favorite so far.. I would use everyone of these products almost every day..
